Mr. Rizvi is one of the leading corporate lawyers of Pakistan. He has extensive experience in all aspects of corporate law and non-contentious legal matters including contract negotiations, strategic planning, corporate and financial restructuring, privatizations, acquisitions, mergers, divestations, Islamic modes of financing and project finance.

He has drafted various statutory enactments and regulatory frameworks for Pakistan and has assisted the Asian Development Bank in the restructuring of the regulatory framework for the securities and corporate sector of Pakistan. He is considered an authority in the fields of project finance, energy and telecommunications in Pakistan due to his experience and involvement in several major projects in these sectors. He was till recently a director of the Karachi Stock Exchange and Chairman of the Committee on Cyber Laws, Legislation and IPR of the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of Pakistan.

Mr. Rizvi completed his LL.B. (Hons.) from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1979, was called to the Bar of England and Wales from Lincoln's Inn in 1980, and completed his LL.M. from the University of London in 1981. He has been practicing corporate law in Pakistan since 1981. Mr. Rizvi also has a M.A in Islamic Studies from the University of Virginia.

Mr. Rizvi is the recipient of the prestigious Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence) from the President of Pakistan and the Leading Corporate Lawyer Award 2006, 2007 and 2008 from AsiaLaw.

Mr. Rizvi has also appeared in more than two hundred cases in the High Courts of Sindh, Balochistan and other superior courts of Pakistan. He has undertaken international arbitration and litigation work in London, Brussels and Singapore.
