The Firm is recognized in the Supreme Court of Pakistan at Islamabad, the High Court of Sindh at Karachi, the Lahore High Court and the High Court of Baluchistan at Quetta as the premier litigating law firm of Pakistan.

The matters in which the litigation department of the Firm has excelled include constitutional petitions, civil suits, corporate matters, labour matters, family matters, trade marks appeals, claims by financial institutions, banking suits, rent appeals, income tax appeals and petitions to the Supreme Court of Pakistan by leave to appeal.

As a matter of policy the Firm does a minimum of 5% Pro Bono work. The Firm will be representing The Citizens Foundation, a charitable foundation providing education to the underprivileged children of Pakistan in a complicated taxation matter before the Supreme Court.  The Firm also undertook work on behalf of the Fishermens’ Co-operative Society.



  • Represented Cohen Brown Management Group, Inc. in a civil suit, filed in the Sindh High Court, Karachi. This is civil action for the infringement of copyright protected literary work. The total claim is for US $ 100,000,000/-.

  • Represented FABER Industries S.P.A (Italy), a leading Italian company and manufacturer of gas cylinders.  The firm successfully obtained a suspension of the court  order in a civil suit alleging defects in the CNG equipment of the company. The case involved wide ranging and complex issues including OGRA’s jurisdictional capacity and numerous procedural aspects of civil suits. Notably, the court agreed with the argument put forward by the firm and gave a clear ruling on a point which was previously regarded as a grey area in law.

  • Representing Adamjee Insurance Company Ltd. in a civil suit filed by UIG (Private) Ltd. for entitlement to a fire insurance claim prayed for in the suit to be over Rs.121,000,000/-.

  • Represented Muhammad Shafi Tanneries (Pvt.) Ltd. (one of the largest tanneries in Pakistan) and was successful in obtaining an ad interim stay order against the City District Government Karachi and the Province of Sindh in relation to a property dispute.

  • The Firm undertakes a wide array of litigation work, we have a varied client base in respect of litigation matters including banks both local and foreign, pharmaceuticals, oil and container terminal MNCs and various other MNCs. The Firm represents clients in local and international arbitrations.

  • After successfully defending one of the world’s largest copper-gold concessions before the Balochistan High Court the Firm is now representing the concessionaire before the Supreme Court in the appeal preferred against the said judgment.

  • We have represented Impregilo SpA, ED Zublin, Infinity Global in their various litigation matters ranging from contractual disputes, sale of goods, taxation to local administration laws in the lower and higher courts of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Attock and Swabi.

  • Representing Zahra Communications in their arbitration before Justice (r) Nasir Aslam Zahid in respect of their commercial disputes pertaining to an international telecom services agreement.

  • Representing Sinohydro Corporation in their dispute resolution procedures (ADR) provided in the FIDIC form of international construction contracts before the Engineer/Consultant and Dispute Resolution Board.

  • We represent financial institutions, both local and foreign in the Banking Courts, High Court and Civil Courts on diverse issues ranging from recovery cases for of outstanding loans/debts, sale of mortgaged property through the court, credit card fraud, cases where damages are being claimed for negligence by the financial institutions. We have represented Standard Chartered Bank, NIB, Crescent Commercial Bank Limited, CALCORP, Union Bank Limited and Union Leasing Limited.

  • Represented PKP Explorations Limited before the Federal Ombudsman seeking directions for OGRA to fulfill its statutory responsibilities in accordance with the petroleum laws.

  • Represented the interests of our corporate clients in the High Court, Civil Courts and before various tribunals, these clients include Clariant Pakistan Limited and  Clariant Ibérica Producción, Spain, Modern Marine Services (Private) Limited, AES Lal Pir (Private) Limited and AES Pak Gen (Private) Limited, PICIC Insurance Limited, Pharamcia Pakistan, Global Securities Pakistan Limited.
