Since his enrolment as an advocate in 1995, Mr. Nadir Altaf has handled a number of corporate and commercial matters. Since 2003 he has worked exclusively in the power sector.  Having worked with the GOP’s one-window organization (PPIB) facilitating multi-billion dollars investment in power generation and thereafter with the electricity regulator (NEPRA) as their legal advisor, Mr. Altaf adds rich experience to the already highly experienced RIAA team handling power projects since 1988. During his association with NEPRA, Mr. Altaf has proactively assisted the regulator in drafting and finalizing tariff rulings and generation licenses for the upcoming IPPs. He has also assisted in other regulatory matters including those relating to KESC, WAPDA, nuclear power plants and captive power plants.  Recently, Mr. Altaf has been an active member of the regulator’s teams mandated to finalize IPPs Hydel Tariff Framework and Upfront Tariff for Local Coal. His interest includes renewable energy projects.

Mr. Altaf holds a Master’s degree in Business & Trade Law from the Netherlands. He has been a visiting lecturer at the International Islamic University, Islamabad and has also supervised LLM research theses and remained as an external examiner.
