RIAA EXPERIENCE OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE LAW
 
A preview of the work recently undertaken by the Trade Law Department of RIAA
Anti-dumping investigation against alleged dumping of Paperboard in Pakistan
Representing a number of international paperboard producers and exporters in the ongoing investigation against alleged dumping of paperboard in Pakistan before the National Tariff Commission ("NTC"). The companies being represented by RIAA including Hansol Paper Company Ltd (Korea), HM Trading Corporation (Korea), PT Fajar Surya Wisesa Tbk (Indoneasia), International Business Management (Karachi), Trade International (Lahore), ATC Pakistan Private Limited, Karachi.

Anti-dumping investigation against alleged dumping of Hydrogen Peroxide in Pakistan
Representing Hansol Chemical Company Ltd (Korea), OCI Company Limited (Korea) and OCI Corporation (Korea) in the anti-dumping investigation against alleged dumping of Hydrogen Peroxide into Pakistan.

Anti-dumping investigation against alleged dumping of Hot Rolled Coil into Pakistan from Ukraine
Representing a major Ukrainian producer of Iron & Steel related products in the anti-dumping investigation initiated by NTC against alleged dumping of Hot Rolled Coil into Pakistan from Ukraine which was initiated upon a request by Pakistan Steel Mills. Our esteemed clients include OJSC Ilyich Iron & Steel Works of Mariupol (Ukraine), Taco Metalsasia Limited (British Virgin Island).

In addition, RIAA is also advising Sumitomo Corporation, Japan in this investigation.

Corus Packaging Plus, Netherlands (“Corus Packaging”)
Appeared before the NTC on behalf of Corus Packaging in an anti-dumping investigation initiated against dumped imports of Tin-Plate into Pakistan. Corus Packaging belongs to the Corus Group with an established global presence. Presently, Corus Group is Europe's second largest steel producer.

Master Tiles and Ceramic Industries Ltd., Gujranwala (“Master Tiles”)
Advising Master Tiles on various issues including incentives through trade policy, imposition anti-dumping duties, and establishment of a cluster based industrial sector for tiles. RIAA is also assisting them in ongoing litigation matters before the Superior Courts of Pakistan relating to import of tiles under Free Trade Agreement with China and other matters such as imposition of regulatory duties on tiles.

RIAA has also assisted the All Pakistan Sanitary-ware Association on promotion of this sector and funding from the Asian Development Bank.


Engro Polymer and Chemicals Limited, Karachi (“Engro”)
Filed a review application on behalf of the domestic industry producing PVC Resin (Suspension Grade) with the NTC for continuation of anti-dumping duties imposed in 2004 on dumped imports of PVC Resin from Iran and Korea.

All Pakistan Paper Merchant Association (“APPMA”)
Currently representing APPMA before the Ministry of Finance and the Federal Board of Revenue for removal of regulatory duties on paperboard and reduction in custom duties on all paper related items.

Diamond Weld Rods (Pvt.) Limited (“Diamond Weld Rods”)
Appeared before the NTC on behalf of Diamond Weld Rods in a "tariff protection" matter filed by Pakistan Steel Mills under the National Tariff Commission Act, 1990.
