Mr. Khosa graduated from the Government College Lahore in 1993 and received his LL.B (Hons.) in 1996 from Cardiff Law School. Mr. Khosa was called to the Bar of England & Wales from Lincoln’s Inn in 1997 and since then he has been practicing in almost all the major facet of civil legal practice including corporate, commercial, competition, financial, labour as well as constitutional laws of Pakistan.
He is recognized as one of the leading construction lawyer of Pakistan having dealt with all kinds of local and international forms of construction contracts including FIDIC, JCT, PEC and other building and construction forms of contracts within and outside Pakistan in addition to successfully concluding a number of BOT, BOOT, BOT-Annuity and BOO projects in Pakistan. Mr. Khosa also spearheaded the Pakistan legal team for Ghazi-Barotha Contractors (a JV of Impregilo SpA & ED Zublin AG) for a 1450 MW Ghazi-Barotha Hydropower Project in Pakistan during four years long legal battle with Pakistan Water & Power Development Authority which was successfully concluded with a global amicable settlement clearing all the construction claims of the JV.
Mr. Khosa has also been extensively involved in the petroleum and mining sectors of Pakistan having provided legal services to a huge rage of the Firm’s petroleum and mining clientele in drafting, negotiating and successfully concluding number of concession agreements, gas sale & purchase agreements, gas pricing agreements and all other aspects of exploration, pricing, taxation and assignments.
Since joining RIAA, he has been involved in various telecom projects wherein he has successfully negotiated, drafted and advised on telecom equipment supply, installation, testing and commissioning contracts, implementation of networks, lying of fiber-optic agreements, frame agreements and providing legal opinions on almost all the aspects of Pakistan telecom sector.
In the last twelve years of practice Mr. Khosa has been involved in high profile arbitrations conducted in and out of Pakistan under ICC, UNCITRAL, ICSID and Pakistan Arbitration Act in addition to regularly appearing before the superior courts of Pakistan in Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and Karachi in constitutional, original, company, banking and appellate jurisdictions of the courts in Pakistan. Mr. Khosa also regularly appears before the public regulators including Securities & Exchange Commission, Competition Commission, Mining Licensing Authorities, Telecommunication Authority and other taxation tribunals in Pakistan.
Mr. Khosa is the Partner-in-Charge of Islamabad offices of the Firm and is also the President of the Firm’s Afghanistan entity.
